From the tiniest infants to six-year-old preschoolers, the little people at The Children’s House Montessori thrive on the intellectual and social stimulation their teachers provide. An integral part of the Montessori philosophy, the curriculum is designed to help these children fulfill their highest potential. This may sound like a tall order for such small individuals, but founder and owner Julie DiPonio-Roy is inspired by these industrious children who demonstrate respect, self-confidence and rapt interest in their activities. As a member of the American Montessori Society, Julie and her dedicated staff share the Montessori vision, encouraging individual growth by providing an enriching, flexible environment where children can explore and develop their intellect. Grade 1 teachers from neighbouring schools have frequently commented: “We always know the children that have come from one of your schools – they are socially and academically very well prepared.” Since opening in 2001 with only 13 children, The Children’s House Montessori has grown to three locations with an enrollment of 600 children. Still furthering their commitment to children’s education, Julie and her husband Dr. Beau Roy recently opened Teach ‘N’ Toys, a new teacher resource and early learning store. Based on Julie’s specialized training, The Children’s House Montessori reflects a curriculum designed for autonomous development, lifelong study skills, self-motivation and a positive, helpful attitude. Julie explains, “When our children “graduate” at age 6, they carry these lifelong values with them.” Driven by passion and commitment, Julie and her staff practice a holistic approach, striving toward the ultimate goal for each child to become a responsible community leader and achieve their highest potential while having fun. Along with equal measures of love and care, their formula is a proven success. |
