Alan Pourvakil, founder and creative director of W·Studio, has earned many awards for his designs in international carpet industry shows. With almost twenty years of experience and innate artistry, he designs carpets that nobody else offers. In his words, “If we don’t have it, we try to make it.” This experience is shared through W·Express, W·Studio’s innovative online service. From a few design, colour and size directions, W·Studio suggests the best carpets to suit the decor. Alan personally oversees these projects. Alan’s love of nature, art and fashion are evident in his collection of classical, transitional and award-winning con- temporary carpets. Created to please the most discerning tastes, Alan says, “Our carpets consist of the most exclusive designs and interesting colour palettes; many of them can be customized to suit unique spaces.” Determined to do his share in sustaining the environment, his collection is hand woven from renewable resources of wool, silk and cotton, a fusion of artistry and nature. Captivated by the exquisite artistry and craftsmanship of long-forgotten pieces, Alan dedicated himself to reviving these remarkable works of art, recreating them in colours that complement current decor. These timeless pieces are indeed the heirlooms of tomorrow. W·Studio carpets are displayed in prestigious residential and commercial projects worldwide, as well as in several galleries at the Royal Ontario Museum, designed in partnership for their Renaissance ROM expansion project. A philanthropist, Alan contributes to the community, including Doctors Without Borders, the Toronto Hospital for Sick Kids, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Reach for the Rainbow, CANFAR and the AIDS Committee of Toronto, to name a few. Alan Pourvakil, an industry expert, brings you “Art for the Fifth Wall.” |
