Fusing a passion for superlative patient care with an exceptional level of surgical skill and academic training, Dr. James Manzanares is regarded as one of the nation’s foremost authorities on spine deformity and pain, as well as complex pediatric orthopaedic issues.

Dr. Manzanares completed medical school and his orthopaedic residency at the prestigious Mayo Clinic, with dual fellowships in Pediatric Orthopaedics at the Nemours Children’s Clinic and Advanced Spine Reconstruction at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Utilizing and developing innovative techniques, including minimally invasive spine surgery, Dr. Manzanares remains committed to the development of his field in an effort to help patients recover faster and lead healthier lives.

Established in 2006 in Naples, Gulf Coast Spine & Orthopaedic Institute (GCSOI) is rapidly gaining a national reputation for surgical and clinical excellence. GCSOI has been selected as one of a few sites nationally to participate in a Complex Spine Study Group, aimed at enhancing industry knowledge on spine implants. Additionally, GCSOI is a preceptor site for Physician Assistant students from Nova Southeastern University.
